In this video, learn how to manipulate f-curves to improve the motion of a ball bouncing down stairs. Maxon really did a great job at making 3D really user friendly. In CINEMA 4D keyframes are finessed using f-curves. The big difference between maya and c4d is that maya is basically made from a developers' perspective (which makes it not so user friendly). Not a big fan of the physical renderer, but luckely there is vray for c4d. depending on what you do, the standard renderer is quite clean for mograph stuff. At first, this might seem a bit weird but it's quite clean and organized.Īlso pretty different. Basically, everything you put on a model is a tag (shader tag, phong tag, dynamics tag and so on). The workflow in C4D is quite different, but more structured than the outliner in Maya. Just play around and you'll see what I mean. I really was extited the first time playing around in the mograph module, and saw so many things that would take ages in Maya. A lot of the things that take MEL/Python in maya are just mograph options in C4D. UV mapping actually works a lot cleaner in c4d. Just follow some basic tutorial to get to know the tools (and more or less how the tools in C4D are named compared to maya). You'll most likely hate it at first, but once you get used to it you'll start to like it. Quite different! it takes a while to get used to it, and franky I do believe moddeling in maya is more intuitive. ![]()
